The Mergers & Acquisitions Team at Signify is responsible for all acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments, integration and disentanglement activities exercised by Signify around the globe. The M&A team’s responsibilities include the strategic, financial and operational analysis and execution of all potential transactions.

The internship provides a unique opportunity to experience M&A at the corporate level in one of the most exciting M&A teams in the Netherlands

Together we can…  

You will work as a full member of the team:
  • Be at the heart of deal execution contributing to the inorganic development of Signify
  • Analyze the strategic fit of potential targets
  • Perform valuation analysis (DCF, multiples, etc.)
  • Engage, learn from and collaborate with most business functions
  • Ponder deal tactics (buying and selling)
  • Perform and evaluate due diligence
  • Carry out project management
  • Craft presentations for the Board of Management

You are…

  • A self-starter, having affinity with numbers and delivering well-thought through results
  • Proactive learner and a good communicator, having excellent verbal and written communication skills (English). Able to deliver a difficult message in a clear way
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results in short periods of time
  • Self-aware, good listener, reflective and solution oriented
  • Collaborative and a strong team player
  • Master student in a relevant field or MBA
  • Available full-time for 6 months (no combination with writing a thesis) and willing to start your internship as soon as possible
  • Excited about M&A and eager about learning on the job  

Internship Conditions
  • You will receive an internship allowance; the exact amount depends on your situation. (also towards rented accommodation or public transportation)
  • You are entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month
  • You have the opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)

Notes
  • EU/EER students: In order to be considered for this internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation of this may be requested at any time.
  • Non-EU students in Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (receive ECTS in turn). In case of non-compulsory internship, you need to have a letter from the university in which it states that your internship contributes to your personal development, what your learning goals are  and what tasks you will undertake during your internship. The letter has to be signed and stamped by your university.
  • Non-EU students in non-Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and the internship should be a compulsory part of your studies. Also, you need to be able to get the official approval of your university for this internship (Nuffic agreement).
